The tea estate is situated about 2kms from Takdah’s main market.

The next stop on your trip will be Tinchuley, distanced 3.5kms from Takdah. Among the many attractions here, you must keep in mind that Tinchuley is famous for the enchanting views of the Kanchenjunga snow peaks and its lovely orange orchards.

As you continue from Tinchuley, you can take up the new road which traverses through the Peshok Tea Gardens for a mind-blowing drive.

Peshok Tea Gardens

You’ll enjoy the drive as you go through wide stretches of beautiful garden on all sides of the mountain slope. Make sure to stop at the Peshok Garden View Point to marvel at the out-of-the-world view all around. You’ll notice that the road goes down covering most of the tea gardens and joins Peshok road below.

From Peshok Road, you need to turn left to head towards Lamahatta, an urban eco-tourism place that’ll take you 1hour to reach it from Tinchuley. Lamahattais known to provide stunning views of the snow-capped Kanchenjunga peaks.

Lamahatta Roadside Garden

One of the popular attractions at Lamahatta is the marvellous landscape Roadside Garden. This expansive garden on the roadside which is well-manicured will lead you to pretty flowering plantations, pathways, benches for sitting, hedges, gazebo for praying or meditating and a watchtower to soak in the panoramic view.

In the background of the garden, you’ll discover a forest full of dhupi and pine trees. Exploring the trail through the forest will lead you to a tranquil lake. Do spare some time to roam about in the lush garden and have your mood elevated amidst the beautiful flora and magical views! If the sky is clear, you can get a wonderful view of the mountains from here. You’ll find many Buddhist prayer flags moving with the wind on one side of this sprawling garden.

Food delights at Lamahatta

In Lamahatta, you’ll find interesting food stalls that sell hot tasty munchies and snacks. You can have a light lunch here. You can enjoy warm noodles, momos and other delicious snack items in these stalls.
